Project| 01 1840's Men's Tailcoat

My current tailoring project is a 1840's men's tailcoat made out of black cashmere wool with black silk lapels.

The photos show tailoring techniques such as chalking, tacking and pad stitching.

Project | 03 Ladie's jacket 1950's style

Project | 03 1950's ladie's jacket & Skirt

Inspired by the film 'Phantom Thread' I decided to explore couture tailoring a little bit more. This is a hard tailored jacket with padded hips and a padded bust area. Bound buttonholes and covered buttons add to the period look. This work is still in progress , please come back to see the finished piece.
